There are times we all think it, but it hurts to see opposition players criticise our team.

Arsenal lost 2-1 to Watford on Sunday afternoon, and goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes spoke to reporters after the game only to stick the boot in on the Gunners.

The Brazilian conceded once but was fairly untroubled for the rest of the match as Quique Sanchez Flores’ side defended well and looked dangerous on the break. Here’s what he had to say:

Ouch. The worst part is you can’t even argue with him. In our big successes, or defeats to big sides, this season we have sat off the opposition and allowed them time on the ball in an attempt to stay compact before hitting them on the break.

It’s been successful at times, but has seen us sacrifice our own way of playing and we now look completely lost against the ‘smaller’ sides, struggling to break teams down over and over again.

Watford know we would give them space and everyone knows we don’t look like winning the title.
