Olivier Giroud has hailed Arsenal’s ‘team cohesion’ after our huge 4-0 win over Hull in the FA Cup.

It was our most convincing win for a while. We’ve failed to win a match since our 2-1 victory over Leicester and many, myself included, were beginning to lose faith in the team and even the manager.

Giroud praised the way we not only managed to score four goals but how we defended as a unit after the game.

“My wife had her delivery yesterday night but I wanted to play this game,” Giroud said.

“I’m very happy with the team because we go through. We had a great game and we’ve kept a clean sheet – it’s been a long time. We scored four goals so we’re very pleased tonight.

“Today I’m very pleased to be back on the scoresheet, even more because it’s been a long time since I scored. I’m happy because I felt well on the pitch with my team-mates. We had good cohesion.”

The Frenchman is bound to be pleased considering he scored a brace. He’s been in the middle of a bit of a goal drought and hopefully this will give him the confidence he needs to push on and get more.

Our next match is against Watford at the weekend in the next round of the FA Cup and although we’re likely to see a rotated team, I’d be surprised if Giroud doesn’t make an appearance.
