Arsenal have received a big boost ahead of Wednesday’s game against FC Barcelona, with Laurent Koscielny travelling with the squad.

The French defender hasn’t featured since the 3-2 defeat to Manchester United at the end of February, but should be back in the squad at Camp Nou after travelling with the rest of the team on Tuesday.

Arsène Wenger will provide an update on the defender in Tuesday evening’s press conference, expected to take place around 6pm, but with Koscielny travelling it looks like the news will be positive.

After two weeks out the 30-year-old returned to team training on Friday but missed out on the squad to face Watford in the FA Cup. Another shaky performance from Gabriel should have seen him red carded and Wenger will be glad to have Koscielny back.

Over the course of the season, the Arsenal manager has even seemed to lose faith in Per Mertesacker. Against a fluid and rapid Barcelona frontline he may look to pair Koscielny with Gabriel, and will be glad to have that option once again.

After losing the home leg of the last 16 tie by two goals the odds are against Arsenal and the Gunners will likely have to keep a clean sheet in Barcelona to have any chance of progressing. With Wenger set to name a strong side, he clearly believes the players can do it.
