Emmanuel Petit has slammed Arsenal for letting both the fans and the club down.

The former Gunner explained how this was our best chance in years to win the League and how the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United and Man City won’t all fail again next season.

“We let down the fans, we let down the club because this year was for us. For us,” Petit said.

“Do you think Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United will do the same next year? Forget it. They will come back strongly.

“So if this year you cannot compete with Spurs, with all the respect I have for them, and Leicester, then change your sport. I’m sorry.”

All the ‘top teams’ have been pretty terrible so far this season, allowing Leicester to cruise to the top of the Premier League. The chances are this won’t happen again with Pep Guardiola taking over at City and our old mate Jose Mourinho rumoured to be going to the Red Devils. Therefore, without beating about the bush, it looks as if we’ve blown it again for the foreseeable future.

What’s more is that our north London rivals, Spurs, are ahead of us and actually are within a chance of winning the trophy themselves. We’ve not been good enough and truth be told, this season has been a let down.
