Emmanuel Eboue has signed a short-term deal with Sunderland.

The former Arsenal man has been on trial with the Wyreside club for a while now and although it was widely speculated that his time there would become permanent, he’s now finally put pen to paper.

The short-term deal takes the 32-year-old up until the end of the season. Presumably, this will give the club enough time to see if they want to sign him on a more permanent basis.

Speaking in his first interview with his new club, Eboue admitted that even when he was playing for Galatasaray in Turkey, he dreamed about coming back to the Premier League. He seems relaxed (that’s one word for it, anyway) and happy with the deal and it’s good to see him settled after a turbulent time in Turkey.

Although I wouldn’t personally have him back at Arsenal, I’m glad he’s found somewhere.
