Abou Diaby has been injured in training before even making his debut for Marseille.

The injury-prone midfielder was released from Arsenal in the summer and was picked up by the Ligue 1 club. However, the 29-year-old is yet to make an appearance for the team after getting injured soon after joining. He was supposed to make his debut on Thursday against US Granvillaise in the Coup de France but unfortunately, he’s picked up a calf injury in training.

Ever since Dan Smith shattered Diaby’s ankle ligaments he’s never been the same and now, at the age of 29, is it time for the Frenchman to hang up his boots?

Of course it’s completely down to the player and if he feels he’s got more years left in him then by all means, he should carry on, but as a fan it’s hard to see him constantly sidelined. I can’t even imagine how he feels. Is it really worth the heartache?
