David Seaman is no stranger to a North London Derby and he reckons this one on Saturday is a great chance for Arsenal to turn this negative spell around.

We’ve now lost three games on the bounce – not ideal at this point in the season. The Derby on Saturday is going to more or less be a title decider and Spurs are going into it clear favourites. If they win this they could win the title and we just can’t let that happen.

“All that happened this week was that we lost one extra point to Leicester,” Seaman said.

“We had a bad result; luckily everyone around us got beat so we didn’t lose too much ground.

“Losing three on the trot is not the best, but what better way to get your confidence up than by going to White Hart Lane and beating Tottenham? Forget what’s gone on, focus on Saturday and a chance of gaining points on the teams above you.

“Their confidence is low, it will be low, but what a great opportunity on Saturday against Spurs.”

Seaman admitted that he’s fed up of seeing all this negativity about Arsenal in the press and the former international goalkeeper even backed David Ospina to do alright as long as our back four are at the top of their game.

“[Cech] will be a loss because he’s a quality goalkeeper,” Seaman continued.

“But (the way) I look at it, if the back four play well it doesn’t matter who’s in goal.

“I’m so fed up of all this negative stuff about Arsenal. All right, it’s a negative about Petr Cech but David Ospina will come in again, has shown what he can do.

‘”thought it was a little bit harsh when he got made the number two. He’s not the quality of Petr Cech but let’s just see how it goes.

“(But) we need a win on Saturday, big time.”

I like Seaman’s optimism. When everywhere I turn is another headline about how terrible we are and how we’ve thrown away the title, it’s nice to hear someone saying we can do it.
