Francis Coquelin has etched himself into the record books after making 13 interceptions at Goodison Park on Saturday.

This means that Coquelin now holds the record for the most interceptions in a Premier League game, a record that he will hold along with Sean Davis who also made 13 with Portsmouth against Manchester City in 2009.

His partnership with Mohamed Elneny already looks like it has restored some balance to the Arsenal midfield which had been struggling badly since the loss of Santi Cazorla to injury.

The win at the weekend means that Arsenal aren’t quite dead and buried in the title race, although they do have a big gap to close on Leicester.

Before that, however, they have to get Tottenham in their sights. Spurs sit six points ahead of Arsenal, but have played a game more. They also have the toughest run in of the trio.

This race isn’t over yet, not by a long way.
