England u20 midfielder Carla Humphrey will spend the 2016 season on loan and has spoken to the Doncaster Belles official website on how she settling up over there.

And it seems that things are looking really positive so far. She has adapted well to her new surroundings. It is important to note that it is her first time living away from home and her family and this is a huge step and part of the growing up process in the life of a young adult like Carla.

“I’m settling in really well. I couldn’t have wished for it to have gone any better.

“The girls have all been welcoming and after moving in with a couple of the girls, they’ve become like big sisters to me.”

The move from Cambridgeshire to South Yorkshire has started on the right foot obviously:

“I’m loving it here already.

“I think the people [of Doncaster] in general have been really welcoming. I’ve explored the town a little bit and I like it.”

Carla has been an Arsenal player since the Centre Of Excellence u9 level and the Belles are therefore her first ever team outside Arsenal and she seems quite happy with her new team-mates ability.

“The team we have here are full of different personalities and I get on with every one of them. Everyone clicks as a team and I already feel a part of it.”

“We’re all really positive about going into the season. In the games that we’ve played, we’ve produced some really good football and we’re looking good,”

“Without giving too much away, I feel we can achieve our aims this season.”

Hopefully, Glenn Harris, the Belles manager will play Carla in her favoured playmaker position behind the three forwards Natasha Dowie, Courtney Sweetman-Kirk and Jessica Sigsworth and she will gain a lot of experience and playing time during the 2016 season.
