Hector Bellerin reckons the international break has come at a perfect time.

After Arsenal won 2-0 against Everton on Saturday, the right-back, who also bagged as assist during the victory, said that it’s good to have the break so that we can recharge and regroup going into this final stage of the season.

“[We’re] definitely [still in the title race],” the youngster said to Arsenal Player.

“It is great time to go on the international break after a win, and it’s time for the players to recharge their batteries because it is the last bit of the season and it is important for us.

“We knew it was going to be a hard game. We were really looking forward to it and the team put on a great performance, especially in the first half with two great goals. That gave us the chance to relax a little bit in the second half.

“It is always a hard place to come and in the last few years we have always had tough games [here]. To get a win like that was important.

“I think the team has had more purpose with the ball lately and we are playing better football. That is showing on the pitch because we have to defend less because we are keeping the ball and creating way more chances.”

To be fair, Bellerin has a point. Although not all of our players will get a rest, at least some will and we do need a break. Our team against the Toffies did appear refreshed but that may not last for long if another one of our first team players suffers an injury. The likes of Danny Welbeck and Alexis Sanchez have only just returned to the team and therefore, we should welcome a breather.

I know from an Arsenal fan’s perspective, it’ll be nice to have a break from the drama and negativity currently surrounding our club.
