Héctor Bellerín completed another 90 minutes on Monday evening to help Spain u21s to a win over Norway u21s.

The game was only a friendly and, to be completely frank, it would’ve been nice to see Bellerín not have to play the entire match after playing the whole of Spain’s 3-0 defeat to Croatia u21s at the end of last week.

That loss was a competitive qualifying match so Arsène Wenger will be a little more understanding. The game against Norway, however, was just a youth international friendly and it feels a little unnecessary for the 20-year-old to have played the entire 90 minutes both times.

Spain had Javier Manquillo in the squad, so it wasn’t like Bellerín was the only option in his position.

Still incredibly young, Bellerín has played a lot of football this season – much more than almost any other player his age in Europe – and could do with a little more consideration when matches are just friendlies. At least he will have the summer off, with Spain head coach Vicente Del Bosque unlikely to select him for Euro 2016.

Thankfully, it looks like Bellerín has had no issues with fitness or injury and will return to Arsenal ready for next Saturday’s game against Watford, where he spent some time on loan two seasons ago.
