Tuesday night might have been good for Arsenal in terms of the cup, but when it came to keeping players fit, it was not.

Three players had to be replaced before the end of the game, and one of those had only come on as a substitute himself.

So, just who is crocked for Arsenal and when can we expect to see them back?

Per Mertesacker

Per went off with a cut above his eye. It was initially reported that he had a mild concussion (probably did) but after the game against Hul, Arsene Wenger explained it as a ‘cut above his eye’. This should not keep him out for the weekend unless the swelling gets so bad he is not able to see out of it. Unlikely.

Gabriel

Gabriel just sat down and no-one seemed to know what it was. Apparently it was a ‘hamstring’ which, given it did not look like any sort of serious tear, could see him out for a week (if it was just tight) to three (if he is pulled it).

Laurent Koscielny

Out with a calf injury, Wenger said before Hull that Kos had a chance to be back for the weekend but would likely be a bit short.

Mikel Arteta

Has returned to full training

Aaron Ramsey

Picked up a thigh problem against Hull about which Wenger said “To me, the most serious looks to be Ramsey. He has a thigh problem; I think it is a thigh strain.” Probably won’t see him for the rest of the month.

Tomas Rosicky

Will he be back before his contract expires in the summer? Probably not with Wenger saying at the start of February “The only thing we know is that it is a bad muscular injury that will keep him out for a long time.

“The good news is that he will apparently not need surgery as it is a partial rupture of his tendon but how long it takes, [whether] it is two months or three months, we do not know.

“We are all shocked and he is the most shocked and we have to patient and hope that it is not his last game.”

Santi Cazorla

Told everyone on Twitter he’d be back at the start of April despite Wenger saying the news was not good for him. Let’s believe Santi.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

Ruled out for 6-8 weeks, one week ago, the Ox thankfully didn’t need surgery on his knee injury.

Petr Cech

It will be another 3.5 weeks before we get Petr back as he recovers from a calf strain. After the Swansea game, Wenger said “Petr’s scans were better than expected, but it will still be four weeks for him. So after the international break.”

Jack Wilshere

Speaking on 4th March, Wenger said “He is going to plan. He is doing well but we think three to four weeks. Maybe he will be available [after the international break]. He is an important player in the plans of Roy Hodgson. We know that because I spoke with Roy about Jack. We need to do everything to make him available for us.”

His injury is listed as just ‘leg’.
