One of the first Arsenal Ladies target from this transfer window as previously reported here has been granted a work permit.

BBC sport Nigeria reported that Asisat Oshoala has been granted a work permit and, therefore, will be allowed to complete her transfer from Liverpool Ladies.

The pacy forward might be the final piece in the puzzle being built by Pedro Losa. Her speed will be an excellent asset to an attack which has lacked pace in the centre-forward position. Natalia Sanchon is a poacher while Danielle Carter is a strong target player that brings other into play and can play with her back to the goal. Young striker Chloe Kelly is also a powerful forward who is a good finisher, but Oshoala brings something new.

She can also play on either wing and will bring added competition to the forwards in these positions like Katie McCabe, Rachel Yankey, and Marta Corredera.

Pedro Losa has assembled an excellent squad in quantity and quality with the club’s budget gone up by a good margin to be able to compete with the likes of Manchester City and Chelsea. A figure of 1.8 million € has been mentioned, still a couple million short of the European biggest teams but a clear investment has been made by the club on that matter and a return to the Champions League places is surely expected.

With 22 players in the squad, not counting the emerging development team players that regularly train with the first team, the manager will be spoiled for choices and will have the difficult job to keep every player happy throughout the season as only 11 players out of 22 can start each game.
