With the season officially starting next Sunday, we will review the entire squad position by position starting with the goalkeepers.

1.Emma Byrne

Emma is the longest serving player at Arsenal Ladies and Ireland’s number 1 goalie. She lost her place as first-choice halfway through last season and offers a lot of experience as the back up goalkeeper at the club.

13. Sari van Veenendaal

The Dutch number one is now the first choice at Arsenal. She signed up straight after the 2015 World Cup and is a tall, reliable shot stopper. Van Veenendaal has plenty of Champions League and international experience.

The club is lucky to have two experienced goalkeepers and a third goalkeeper with potential in Sian Rogers. Sian is a regular with the England u19 team and is highly rated at Arsenal, definitely one to look out for in the future.

There is no doubt that the title challenge won’t be a problem in that position with a lot of quality available for Pedro Losa to pick from.
