With their 2016 season set to start, here is a look at the midfield players in the Arsenal Ladies squad:

4. Fara Williams

The experienced midfielder who recently reached 150 caps for England was signed from Liverpool during the winter transfer window and had the knock on effect of sending Jade Bailey to Chelsea. She will be obviously first-choice in the team and will help the young players develop around her.

6. Vicky Losada

The Spanish playmaker adapted well to the FA WSL during her first season and brings a lot of technical ability and creativity to the side. Another player likely to be a starter.

8. Jordan Nobbs

A top class box-to-box player who was clearly missed last season when injured. She makes the Arsenal midfield tick with her runs and leadership. She sees the game quicker than most and directs her teammates on the pitch.

14. Leah Williamson

Another top class number eight player who can cover in every position around the pitch. Her versatility will probably help her getting game time as the competition for places in midfield is unbelievable and she is up against six full international players.

17. Marta Corredera

The Spanish winger was a big success last season and plays as a classic winger, something that was missed for a few years at Arsenal when Gemma Davison left. She can also cover at full-back.

20. Dominique Janssen

The Dutch defensive midfielder was a huge success coming after the World Cup and performed really well in different role at Arsenal. Her versatility will be an asset as she can cover the four positions in defence as well as her usual midfield role.

21. Danielle Van De Donk

One of the new signings during the winter transfer window, the Dutch playmaker/attacking midfielder will have to find her place in the start studded midfield line-up by bringing her attacking creativity.

The Ladies have strength and quality in depth in the midfield area and the biggest job will be to keep all the players happy with enough game time.
