Tottenham players are bemoaning the final result after failing to beat 10-man Arsenal on Saturday.

Unhappy Spurs players. I love it.

The favourites for the game, Tottenham wasted their chance to go top of the league. They also bottled the derby with Arsenal there for the taking in the aftermath of Francis Coquelin’s red card.

While Spurs started brightly, Arsenal grew into the game and were in complete control until the Frenchman’s moment of madness. Credit must go to Arsenal, who threatened to fall apart completely but managed to steady themselves to claim a point against the odds.

Speaking after the game, Toby Alderweireld felt that the difference between the sides had been the luck they experienced on the day.

“We played well in the first half but went in 1-0 down. We should have scored,” he said.

“Their goal was fortunate and Harry’s was close to going over the line. A little more luck and we would’ve won here.

“It feels like a loss and we should have won but that’s the mentality of this team now. We want to win every game.”

If they want to talk about luck, shall we discuss Eric Dier’s clear second yellow that would have levelled the game at 10 v 10?

Nah didn’t think so.
