The subject of a bid from Leicester City in the winter, Ahmed Musa rejected all offers to stay with CSKA Moscow.

The Nigerian international wanted to remain in Russia until the end of the season but has admitted he is open to a Premier League move in the future. Where? Well, he doesn’t want to sit on the bench, but he does have one club in mind.

“I would be happy if I was wanted by Arsenal,” the winger has confessed“I have supported the team since the age of six. Nwankwo Kanu has been my idol since childhood. It will be fantastic to play for Arsenal.”

Incredibly quick and skilful, Arsenal could go for Musa should they fail to sign Riyad Mahrez in the summer. The Gunners are allegedly interested in the Algerian, but it is unlikely Leicester would sell him for a price deemed fair by Arsène Wenger and the board.

So why not Musa instead? He already has plenty of experience, with 56 Nigeria caps under his belt as well as a few Champions League seasons with CSKA. Despite not being the most prolific player around, he did score four times in 10 Champions League appearances this season. Add that to seven goals in 19 Russian Premier League appearances and there is clearly a lot of talent there.

Whether or not Arsenal want him is another matter entirely; we will find out soon enough.
