17-year-old Nigerian, Victor Osimhen, has revealed why, despite interest, Arsenal isn’t the best team for him and how this led him to choose Bundesliga side Wolfsburg instead.

The striker claims that a few top teams, including the Gunners, were after his signature but the German team was the better option.

Speaking recently, the younger said to BBC Sport, “It’s true that a big team like Arsenal wanted me and I feel honoured to be invited over. But personally I feel Wolfsburg is a ladder for me to reach my professional goals,” Osimhen told BBC Sport.

“Yes Arsenal is a good team for young players but Wolfsburg is the best club for me.

“This the best place for me to learn and develop because my heart is here with Wolfsburg.

“The club’s plan for my career is very encouraging and I believe with God on my side I can grow to become one of the best players in the world.”

Given his age, Osimhen still has a lot to prove. However, he has represented Nigeria at an international level and was a valuable asset to the team, scoring 10 goals for their u17 World Cup squad. He’s clearly a huge prospect and it doesn’t surprise me that we were after him but if it wasn’t meant to be, it wasn’t meant to be.

Here are some of his highlights below.
