French forward Yassin Fortune has signed his first professional deal with Arsenal after turning 17 on Saturday.

Signed from RC Lens in the summer, Fortune has been playing for Arsenal u18s this season and seems to be making good progress. He joined in a deal worth over £3m with Jeff Reine-Adelaide so it is no shock to see him offered professional terms now he is 17.

This season has seen Fortune score seven times in 15 appearances for the u18s, and made his France u17 debut back in September. A quick forward who can play wide or up front, Fortune is an exciting prospect and we could see him in the u21s before long, especially if Stephy Mavididi or Donyell Malen are loaned out next season.

Congratulations to Yassin, and let’s hope we see him in the Arsenal first team in the future.
