For some reason, Arsenal love a red card in the Champions League and Arsene Wenger’s keen to stamp that out during our match against Barcelona on Tuesday.

Barcelona are a strong team as it is, the last thing we need to be doing is reducing ourselves down to 10 men, leaving us at a huge disadvantage.

“We are better equipped in the sense that we have assembled experience and the players have played for a while together now,” Wenger during his press conference.

“Some of the games we played 10 against 11 and then it’s nearly impossible against teams of that calibre. So tomorrow we need to find a good mixture between commitment and as well keeping our nerves and discipline. No stupid fouls, no stupid red card like it happened before. We have to show that we can have control and a committed attitude.”

Arsenal are their own biggest enemy and although we don’t quite implode on the scale we used to against other big teams, we are still very capable of embarrassing ourselves in front of the world.

If we could beat Barca in 2011 at the Emirates with the likes of, with all due respect, Johan Djourou on the pitch, we’re capable of getting a win on Tuesday. All it takes is to keep our heads, focus and don’t do anything silly. As decent as Barcelona are, they’re still human at the end of the day and, when we’re on top form, we’re one of the best.
