Arsene Wenger admitted before Arsenal’s match against Hull at the Emirates that it’ll be disappointing if we don’t go through to the FA Cup quarter-finals.

The boss also spoke about the juggling act of defending the FA Cup but remaining competitive in the Champions League on Tuesday.

However, despite fielding a rotated team, which includes David Ospina in goal and gives Danny Welbeck his first start in 10 months, Wenger said it’ll still be disappointing if we don’t manage to progress.

“The pressure is higher today because we are favourites and if we don’t deliver it is a big disappointment,” the boss said pre-match.

“But on Tuesday, Barcelona will be favourites.

“My focus is on today and today we have an opportunity to see some players coming back into the team like Welbeck and Walcott is coming back into good form, and we get to see Elneny today.

“At the back we’re solid with experienced players so I’m looking forward to the game.”

If we manage to win the FA Cup for the third year running, this will be huge. It’ll be Wenger’s seventh FA Cup and will well and truly make it ‘our trophy’. It’s solid proof that Wenger does take the competition seriously.

Although hopefully we can also manage to win the Premier League this season as well. As much as I love the FA Cup, we need a title to really make a statement.
