What’s amazing about the Barcelona frontline of Luis Suárez, Lionel Messi and Neymar is how well they seem to gel together.

Big stars often come with big egos, selfishness plays a part and the players never really reach their peak together. That can’t be said of these three, who have scored 91 goals between them in all competitions already this season.

The man leading the way is former Liverpool striker Suárez, who easily could’ve been playing for Wenger’s side on Tuesday night.

“I used to think, ‘What if I signed Luis Suárez’ before, but not now,” the Arsenal manager said as he looked ahead to the game. But what is it that makes the Uruguayan so special?

“He gives camaraderie to a team. He did it at Liverpool and he did it playing with Edinson Cavani and Diego Forlan for Uruguay, and did it well.

“Suárez is the kind of guy who manages to create that spirit in teams. Apart from the individual talent the three have, they also have a good understanding, cohesion and great solidarity.”

The amount of goals each of that strikeforce assists for another is quite spectacular, and they simply cannot stop scoring. Most incredibly, they always look like they’re just having fun on the pitch.

That was more evident than ever in the recent demolition of Celta Vigo, who lost 6-1 at Camp Nou despite being level with 35 minutes to go. Each goal was superb, but none caught more headlines than a Lionel Messi penalty, which he passed to Suárez. The Argentine was set to score his 300th La Liga goal at the time, but gave up the opportunity to lay the ball on a plate for his teammate.

“When you see someone like Messi – who had the opportunity to score his 300th goal – do that, it means there’s really something there,” Wenger admitted.

And what now for Suárez? Well on Tuesday, he’ll be back in England for the second time since leaving Liverpool. This time a year ago he scored twice at the Etihad Stadium as Barcelona wen ton to knock out Manchester City. Is there any chance of Arsenal keeping him quiet this time around?
