Speaking just before kick-off against Barcelona in the Champions League, Arsene Wenger refused to comment on his team choice.

The boss controversially chose Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain over the likes of Theo Walcott and Joel Campbell, which may come as a surprise to some considering the forward hasn’t been at his best lately.

Saying this, neither has Theo Walcott and although Joel Campbell has been decent since making his way into the first team, there’s obviously one reason or another why the manager isn’t picking him to start.

“Well, you know I don’t want to explain my decisions before the game because it’s too complicated,” he said.

“At the end of the day you make a decision just because you think it’s the right one.”

All we can do is get behind the Ox, cheer him on and hope he has one of those games where we remember exactly why he was one of the biggest prospects in the Premier League when we bought him from Southampton.

If he keeps his game simple, holds onto the ball without giving it away and isn’t too selfish, he can be a brilliant player. And what better team to do it against than Barcelona at the Emirates?
