After failing to earn another three points in the Premier League on Tuesday night against Southampton, Arsene Wenger admitted the 0-0 draw was ‘maximum frustrating’.

Another match, another two points dropped and it appears Arsenal are destined to fall further and further away from our target of the Premier League title.

Speaking after the game, the boss echoed the sentiments of Gooners everywhere, saying,

“It’s maximum frustrating, when your team puts the energy in and creates the chances. When you have no chances you come out of the game thinking ‘OK, there was not more in it.’ When you come out and you think there was much more in the game like that (tonight), when you have our ambition of course it’s frustrating.”

Of course it was frustrating for everyone involved. However, I’m not sure just how frustrating the players and manager realise it is for fans to watch the same mistakes being repeated week in, week out. Tuesday’s performance wasn’t anything new and it wasn’t necessarily just bad luck which boiled down to us dropping two more points in our quest for the league title.

In the first half we were poor and throughout, our midfield was missing. Our connection between the attack and defence simply wasn’t there and this meant that whenever we had the ball, everything broke down.

How long do we keep doing this?
