Arsene Wenger spoke ahead of our match against Southampton on Tuesday night and revealed that he reckons we could win the treble… yup.

Arsenal are still in the FA Cup, the Champions League and in with a very real chance at the title. I’m not sure there are many Gooners out there who reckon we could win all three, with the European Cup being the obvious fly in the ointment among the three. However, Wenger, as ever, is optimistic.

“It is [possible] because some clubs have done it,” the boss said.

“Bayern have done it.

“It is difficult to compete on three fronts. If you ask me is it possible to win on three fronts, it is a little bit different.

“Exceptionally, it can happen. But you need not to have any bad injuries and to have a basis of a team who can repeat performances.”

Although I don’t see us winning the treble, and I’m not sure many people do, winning the double is actually doable. We’re on course to potentially win the league, only three points off the top, and we’ve just progressed to the fifth round of the FA Cup after beating Burnley on Saturday.

We have to pick and choose our battles obviously but we’re in a strong position.
