When most Gooners heard we had Mike Dean as our referee for the Hull match, many already assumed we would find it hard to come away with a win.

The man is either terrible at his job in general or just dislikes Arsenal but either way he has a habit of making huge decisions in big matches and most of the time they don’t go our way.

The FA Cup tie against Hull was no different. In the opening minutes, a blatant hand ball by Steve Bruce’s son, Alex, wasn’t given and later on both Danny Welbeck and Calum Chambers had penalties waved away. Although Welbz’s was controversial and Chambers’ was debatable, the early one was a stone wall pen.

Speaking after the match, Wenger admitted that there’s nothing we can do about these decisions and although it is irritating, it’s out of our hands.

“There were little moments [that the referee missed] but I can’t influence that,” the boss said.

“We can influence our technical quality but the decision of the referees we can’t do anything about.”

If we as fans are frustrated by the decisions, or lack of, I can only imagine how Wenger must feel.
