We meet again.

For the third year running, Arsenal will face Hull in the FA Cup. So far it’s been a good omen, so let’s hope it continues.

Up against the Tigers in the 2014 final, Arsenal were huge favourites to win the cup a record-equalling 11th time and end a run of nine years without a trophy. It nearly didn’t happen. Just eight minutes into the Wembley showpiece, Arsène Wenger’s men were 2-0 down and staring an embarrassing defeat in the face.

Santi Cazorla scored a lovely free-kick before Laurent Koscielny took the game to extra-time, where Aaron Ramsey scored the winner.

Fast-forward to January 2015 and, as fate would have it, both sides were playing their first game in the competition since that final against each other. Arsenal had been drawn as the home side and it was all a bit more straightforward. A Per Mertesacker header gave us the lead, and Alexis Sanche finished things off in the second half.

And now, once again, here we are in 2016. The FA Cup, Arsenal v Hull.
