Thierry Henry is in a bit of an odd position because while kicking off his career in punditry for Sky Sports, the Arsenal legend is also coaching our attacking youth players at London Colney.

Despite the unique predicament Henry has between supporting the club he works for while being reasonably impartial, the former forward honestly loves the club and isn’t afraid to say so.

“I just love the club,” he said to Arsenal Player.

“I get upset like a fan and I think like a fan. People think what they think but it is true love. I just love the club.

“The most important thing is it is Arsenal Football Club, whether Tony Adams played here, Dennis Bergkamp played here or Tony Adams played here, or Marc Overmans, or Alan Smith or Ian Wright or whoever.

“The guys that come after and the guys that play now, the most important thing is that Arsenal stays right up there and competes to win titles and be a good team.”

Henry brings up a good point about how it doesn’t matter who plays for Arsenal, it’s always going to be Arsenal. No player is bigger than the club and for us to be at the top is part of our institution. We’re one of the best teams in the world and over the years, it would have done certain players good to remember that.

However, at the moment, we have a good squad who seem to genuinely respect the crest on their chest.
