Arsene Wenger spoke ahead of our match with Bournemouth on Sunday and confirmed that while Tomas Rosicky is out, his injury doesn’t require surgery.

Rosicky had his first match back for Arsenal against Burnley in the FA Cup after seven months on the sidelines. However, after the match it was announced that he had picked up another injury, this time a thigh strain, and that it was pretty serious.

Speaking about whether it will be the midfielder’s last game for us, Wenger said, “I hope not. His injury is quite a serious one. He doesn’t need surgery, it’s just a partial rupture of his tendon.”

However, the boss was reluctant to be drawn on Rosicky’s future at Arsenal, considering the club are still unclear on the true severity of his muscular injury.

Rosicky’s contract with us runs out in the summer and therefore, if he’s out for a number of months, he could well have played his last match for us, which would be a shame.

Wenger admitted that he, the club and Rosicky are all in shock and it doesn’t sound as if the Czech man is taking the news too well.
