After a frustrating 0-0 draw where Arsenal had the majority of shots and possession, you can understand why Steve Bruce is chuffed that the FA Cup tie has gone to a replay.

Our lack of composure and cutting edge in front of goal perhaps flattered the Championship side. However, they did defend well and managed to keep a clean sheet, despite our pressure.

Speaking after the match, Bruce admitted that they were lucky but because of the effort the Tigers put in, they deserve the replay.

“The way the team went about their jobs,” Bruce said.

“They deserve a replay for their effort and determination and of course we rode our luck at times, which you have to do, but overall the spirit of them and the absolute 100% effort they gave was there for everyone to see.”

After such a positive result against Leicester last weekend, drawing at home to a depleted Hull side is a tough pill to swallow. Although no one thought it would be an easy win, it was one we should have been capable of and I’m starting to run out of ways to express how frustrating it is to watch us making the same mistakes.

Now we have another away fixture to contend with.
