It always seems as if opposition goalkeepers have the game of their lives when they play Arsenal and in Fraser Forster’s case, it’s true.
The Southampton goalkeeper actually made eight saves on Tuesday in the Saints’ draw at the Emirates, beating his previous all-time record which was against, guess who?
Yup.
Fraser Forster has saved 8 shots in the game against Arsenal tonight, his personal best, beating his previous record of 7, also vs Arsenal.

Although Forster made some spectacular saves to deny the likes of Mesut Ozil, Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott, in a lot of instances we didn’t make it that difficult, considering we took to shooting directly at him.
However, don’t take that to mean that I’m taking anything away from the 27-year-old. He did his job and kept a clean sheet against an Arsenal side which had over 20 shots on goal, over half of which were on target.
The result is disappointing from our point of view but I’m sure the Southampton keeper is over the moon with his performance.
That’s Arsenal for you: providing young goalkeepers with man of the match-winning performances.
