Watford striker, Odion Ighalo, revealed that he reckons Laurent Koscielny is the best defender he’s faced this season.

Speaking recently, Ighalo, who’s scored 15 times in the Premier League so far this season, opened up about why he believes Kos is simply the best.

“I think I have faced a lot of difficult defenders this season,” Ighalo said to AfricanFootball.com.

“But I would say against Arsenal, Koscielny did not give me enough space to do what I wanted and this match was really difficult.

“Koscielny is the best defender I’ve faced this season.”

It’s good to see the centre-back being praised by someone outside of Arsenal, as this seems to only be a recent occurrence. Until the last season or so, no one seemed to rate the Frenchman at all, except Gooners who get to watch him week in, week out.

Now, pundits and other players are coming forward and even describing him as the best defender in the League, which we’ve have been saying for a couple of seasons now.

Last time we faced Watford, we won 3-0 so it’s no surprise that Ighalo is still trying to battle his way out of Koscielny’s back pocket. Hopefully we have a similar performance when we face them again in April.
