Mesut Ozil issued somewhat of an out-of-character battle cry on Monday night ahead of Arsenal’s match against Barcelona on Tuesday.
The former Real Madrid playmaker took to Instagram to encourage the Emirates crowd to be the ’12th man’ against the Catalans and urged us to: “Scream, support and encourage us over 90 minutes in every tackle and every situation.”
One of the best atmospheres to grace our home stadium was the 2-1 win against Barcelona in 2011, which I still watch back and get goosebumps over to this day. If we can recreate that, with the squad we have now, we have every chance of winning.
Listen to Mesut, people. Let’s give them hell on Tuesday.
Gooners! Tomorrow we need you more than ever as our 12th man against the #ucl cup holder at the #Emirates. 👊👊 Scream, support and encourage us over 90 minutes in every tackle and every situation. 👊👏🎺🎶 We already showed that against Bayern Munich – now we have to repeat such a performance on the pitch with your support from the stands!!! COME ON YOU GUNNERS AND YOU GOONERS!💪🔥🔥⚽ #AFCvFCB #YaGunnersYa #BeTheDifference @arsenal
