Louis van Gaal admitted that he felt ‘proud’ after his side beat Arsenal at Old Trafford.

To be fair, United played well but Arsenal turned up with their very best ‘special’ performance and proceeded to act like total morons who had never seen a football to ease LvG’s woes at the club.

A brace from youngster Marcus Rashford put Arsenal in real trouble, and despite goals from Danny Welbeck and Mesut Ozil, Arsenal were never able to draw level again and United continued their run of never having lost a Premier League game that they were winning at halftime.

Speaking after the game, LvG told MUTV “I’m very proud, satisfied and happy because we have done it against Shrewsbury, we have done it against Midtjylland and now we have done it against a very good team in the Premier League so I am very pleased.”

Arsene Wenger, on the other hand, was no doubt less-than-thrilled about how the afternoon had unfolded.

Perhaps feeling irked at the praise that is no doubt likely to come United’s way, the boss replied “Let’s not got overboard. They had a very experienced midfield and spent a lot of money,” when asked about them.
