Sunday saw Arsenal in action, but there was also playing time for the club’s two most senior loanees.

Playing in Italy’s Serie A and France’s Ligue 1 until the end of the season, Wojciech Szczesny and Mathieu Debuchy were both in action after the Gunners had claimed all three points at Bournemouth.

Wojciech Szczesny, AS Roma 2-1 Sampdoria

After taking a 2-0 lead, Roma made life difficult for themselves in the second half against Sampdoria.

Antonio Cassano had a great chance to level the scores, but Szczesny was quick to come off his line and deny the experienced striker with just four minutes remaining, earning Roma their third win in a row. Nice work, Wojciech!

Roma-Sampdoria 2:1. Important 3 points. Now focus on Carpi! 💛❤️

Mathieu Debuchy, Bordeaux 1-4 AS Saint-Etienne

After a debut to forget, Debuchy’s second game for Bordeaux was even worse. Though he wasn’t involved in the play for the first three goals his side conceded, he looked sloppy for the fourth, losing a challenge before being turned all too easily and allowing his man a free run at goal.

It’s been a rough start back in France for Debuchy, and Bordeaux have now conceded seven goals in two games since he arrived.
