The Arsenal legend has put pen to paper and decided to play for another season.

The 37-year-old midfielder will be a player-coach for the FA WSL 2016 season.

Her Arsenal career spans over three periods: After beginning her career with Wembley Ladies, she was signed by Vic Akers in 1996 before moving to study at College in the USA. She had a successful NCAA and then WUSA career over there.

She came back to the Arsenal in 2005 and was an integral part of the unbeaten 2006/07 season that saw the Ladies win six trophies, including the UEFA Women’s Cup that has been renamed UEFA Women’s Champions League since.

With the new US professional League being created in 2009, Kelly went back there and played for the Boston Breakers until the League collapsed and she came back home again in 2012.

The Arsenal Ladies are lucky to be able to see Kelly in action for another season. At her best she was combining the abilities of Zinedine Zidane, Robert Pires and Thierry Henry together.

She is the best English player of all time produced in England male or female with the highest range of skill and technical ability. At the twilight of her career, she can still come into a game and totally change it, as we saw last year when she won the game for the Arsenal against Sunderland before her season was brutally ended by Abbie Holmes who destroyed her ankle.

It is a such a good news to have the influential playmaker doing her bits on and off the pitch acting as a liaison between the players and the coaching staff. Her knowledge of the game is second to none and we saw last year that she was excellent in the assistant manager position.
