Arsenal boss Arsène Wenger told the media on Tuesday that he still expects to see Jack Wilshere back in around four weeks.

The midfielder hasn’t played since pre-season, when he suffered a fractured tibia in training. Unfortunately the injury didn’t heal as expected and the midfielder required surgery.

Over the weekend there were reports that the England midfielder had suffered a setback, but that just isn’t true according to Wenger.

With Arsenal still in three competitions, returning players will always provide a boost to the squad. Danny Welbeck is close to full fitness and Wilshere’s return would be another boost for the Gunners.

Santi Cazorla remains out in midfield and Tomas Rosicky’s injury setback is a blow, so getting Jack in to help take the load off of Aaron Ramsey would be excellent news. Hopefully there’s no setback and Wilshere and Welbeck are both back in time to have an impact on our season.
