Hector Bellerin is the most used full back across Europe’s top five leagues who qualifies as an u21.

According to data released by the CIES Football Observatory in their weekly ‘Big 5’ post, the Spaniard has played 92.3% of Arsenal’s minutes this season, putting him ahead of the competition across England, Spain, Italy, France and Germany.

Breaking the data down by position, CIES listed the top players:

Goalkeepers

Gianluigi Donnarumma (Milan), born in 1999, 68.0%

Centre backs

Niklas Süle (Hoffenheim), born in 1995, 100.0%

Full backs

Héctor Bellerín (Arsenal), born in 1995, 92.3%

Defensive midfielders

Leon Goretzka (Schalke 04), born in 1995, 82.5%

Attacking midfielders

Maximilian Meyer (Schalke 04), born in 1995, 78.8%

Anthony Martial (Manchester United/Monaco), born in 1995, 89.6%

Other notable mentions are Dele Alli of Tottenham who was fifth when it comes to attacking midfielders, Nathan Aké of Watford who was second behind Hector, Everton’s Brendan Galloway, Southampton’s Matt Targett, and Manchester United’s Cameron Borthwick-Jackson fifth, seventh and tenth respectively in the same category.
