Arsenal have allegedly been in touch with the entourage of Adrien Rabiot ahead of a possible summer move according to reports coming out of France.

Doesn’t that sound good?

Of course, when I add that the initial report appeared in Le10, France’s equivalent of the Sun we’re informed, you might find your enthusiasm dampened somewhat.

Rabiot has been heavily linked with both Arsenal and Tottenham over the past few transfer windows but he has yet to show any real sign of leaving PSG despite being (reportedly) ‘unhappy’ for a while now.

Arsenal apparently met with Rabiot’s agent (his mum) several times over the winter transfer window but PSG decided against letting the 20-year-old leave, with a decision to be made over his future in the summer.

It was thought that the arrival of Mohamed Elneny at the club would signal the end of Arsenal’s interest in the player and leave the way clear for Tottenham but with Tomas Rosicky coming to the end of his Arsenal career, Jack Wilshere being made of twigs, and Santi Cazorla not getting any younger, there will be a few openings in the squad soon.

Will Rabiot be filling one? It’s hard to say.

An extremely talented lad, he is young, French and a midfielder which seem to be like crack to Arsene Wenger but his price tag is expected to cause Le Prof to break out in a cold sweat.

He is under contract until 2019 having signed an extension in November 2014.
