Barcelona midfielder Arda Turan is suspended for one Champions League match and won’t feature against Arsenal on Tuesday evening.

The Turkish midfielder became a Barcelona player in the summer but, due to their transfer ban, was not allowed to play for the club until the winter transfer window opened in January.

As he wasn’t eligible to play, he still hasn’t served a ban picked up for a red card in Atlético Madrid’s last match in the competition last season and will have to sit out of Tuesday’s game as a result. Turan, who has played 11 times for his new club, will be available for the away leg.

Though the Turkish midfielder is incredibly talented, it won’t concern Barcelona too much. They also have Andres Iniesta, Ivan Rakitic and Sergio Busquets in midfield, so they’ll probably be able to console themselves.

Those three formed the midfield last season as the club won the Champions League, completing a famous treble, and the players they have both in front and behind them make it one hell of a team.

In fact, Arsenal’s best chance of progressing may be the small hope that Barcelona forget Arda is banned and play him anyway before being kicked out of the competition by UEFA.
