Alexis Sanchez will follow Mesut Ozil and demand £180kpw in his new contract if we are to believe the website, Football Insider.

They have broken both stories recently, claiming that Arsenal’s to key men both want £180kpw.

They also claim that Ozil has agreed the deal while Sanchez is set to ask for it.

Now.

Leaving aside that Football Insider is run by Wayne Veysey and, so, his track record needs to be taken into account, how on earth do they know the details of what Alexis Sanchez *will* ask for?

Let’s be clear, they aren’t saying that he has asked, or even has been offered. They are stating what he *will* ask for.

Seems unlikely, if you ask me.

Of course, it makes sense and it’s easy to see how that story could come about and while I don’t think you’d find a single Arsenal fan who has a problem with the Chilean being paid pretty much whatever he asks for, I wouldn’t go celebrating anything just yet – you know Arsenal and contracts – the ones we want the most take the longest to sort.

For the record, The Sun claim he wants £160kpw.

It’s almost as if some of them just make it up as they go along…
