At this rate, Mathieu Debuchy’s going to be playing for about 70 teams after January.

The defender, who has made his motives to leave Arsenal clear since getting benched in favourite of Hector Bellerin, has been linked with a number of teams over the winter transfer window. One of the most recent has been Aston Villa as part of a loan deal in order to keep him in the Premier League. However, now Bundesliga team, Bayer Leverkusen have entered the mix.

It’s thought that the player and club have made contact. However, it’s unclear whether this is actually the case.

Kicker believes that the issue, if there is one, would be money, as there’s more available in the Premier League and therefore, it’s more likely he’ll stay in England.

At this point, it doesn’t really matter where the Frenchman goes. All that’s clear is that he plans to move and hopefully the deal gets sorted sooner rather than later.
