Freddie Ljungberg recently tweeted about coaching the Arsenal u15s, which naturally sparked curiosity amongst Gooners everywhere.

Speaking ahead of our match against Sunderland on Saturday, Arsene Wenger shed some light on why the legend would be coaching the youngsters.

“Yes, because he wants to make his [coaching] license,” the boss said.

“They [aspiring coaches] have to take care of a youth team and we are happy to give him a chance to do his license. [He will be involved with] the under-15s.”

It’ll be interesting to see if Freddie continues to coach at Arsenal in order to get all of his coaching badges or whether he’ll travel around a bit. Although one thing is for certain, with Thierry Henry having also recently taken up a coaching role at the club, we’ll have quite an impressive roster behind the scenes.

Just in case your mind needs refreshing, here’s a video of Freddie Ljungberg scoring all of his 72 goals in an Arsenal shirt.
