Joel Campbell’s international teammate, Jonathan McDonald, got himself in a spot of bother recently which resulted in him being suspended for throwing a boot at another player.

The Costa Rican forward, who has nine caps for his country and currently plays for Alajuelense in the Costa Rican national league, was angered at being fouled by Deportivo Saprissa’s Nestor Monge, so while on the ground took the chance to remove his boot and hurl it at the opposition player.

Frankly, we wish there was more of this sort of stuff in football.

Hilarious.

McDonald was sent off with his side losing 2-1 at the time.

They lost the game and McDonald has now been suspended.

Joel Campbell, in the Costa Rican national side for two years more than McDonald, despite being five years younger, has 55 appearances to McDonald’s nine.
