Before the dreaded Chelsea game on Sunday, Theo Walcott spoke to Sky Sports about his decade at Arsenal and revealed that he believes the fans are the most important part of the club.

The winger, who signed for us from Southampton at the tender age of 16 was thrust into a dressing room full to the brim with world class footballers and had to adapt to the intensity of the team pretty quickly.

The star even admitted that he looked out of place among the likes of Robert Pires and Dennis Bergkamp but he progressed and is currently our longest serving player at the club.

Speaking about what kept him going, the 26-year-old admitted that the fans have been a driving force behind him and we’re the most important aspect of the club.

“I’m proud of everything I’ve done,” Theo said.

“All the people I’ve worked with, the manager and the faith he’s shown me.

“The fans. It finishes at the fans. They’re the most important people at this club and I want to keep on entertaining them and bring success to this fantastic club.”

It’s true, without the fans, the club wouldn’t exist. However, it’s nice to hear a player acknowledge it.
