After talk of Roma wanting to buy Wojciech Szczesny on a permanent deal with Arsenal unlikely to give up the young goalkeeper, it appears the Serie A team are now aiming to extend his loan deal.

The season-long loan apparently isn’t enough for Roma and they’re so impressed with the Pole that they now want him for even longer.

If Arsenal are unwilling to sell, which appears to be the case, the next best thing is an extended loan deal.

Although having more time with the Italian club and therefore more playing time could help Woj on a personal level, if we sell David Ospina soon, we may have no choice but to bring the 25-year-old back to north London.

Although there’s little chance he’ll be chosen over Petr Cech for regular matches unless an injury occurs, Woj would definitely be the better choice to have on the bench over the unpredictable (or predictably bad?) Colombian.
