Facing the media on Thursday morning, Arsène Wenger delivered the latest team news ahead of Sunday’s game against Chelsea.

The Gunners have been without a number of key players for weeks now and it has started to take a toll on the squad, who struggled to draws with Liverpool and Stoke City last week.

However, things are looking up.

“Compared to last week we have no big problems,” Wenger said, before delivering some posiitve news for fans. Mesut Özil and Alexis Sánchez are both set to make it.

“Özil will certainly be available and Sánchez the next two days will be decisive but I think this time he will make it.”

No player in Europe has been as creative as Özil this season, and his 16 assists Premier League assists dwarfs the totals of every other player. The addition of Alexis would be huge, as Arsenal have been getting by with Theo Walcott on his unfavoured left side and Joel Campbell – who has impressed but usually has good moments rather than generally influencing the course of the game – on the right.

With Chelsea in town on Sunday and the visit of Barcelona coming up among many other Premier League matches in a crucial title race, having two world class players available again is simply huge.
