Arsene Wenger met with the press at London Colney today ahead of Arsenal’s game against Liverpool on Wednesday evening.

The boss gave updates on a number of players with Mesut Ozil and Mathieu Flamini expected to come back into the squad.

David Ospina, who missed out on the chance to play in goal against Sunderland in the FA Cup on Saturday, will undergo a test to see if he’s fit to take a place on the bench after his groin injury.

Of course, everyone is keen to know when Alexis will be back but it seems as if the midweek game will come too soon for the Chilean.

“We should have Ozil and Flamini available. We have to test Ospina, Rosicky is back in full training.

“[For] Sanchez, the Liverpool game will come to soon, he should be okay for Stoke, he’s developing very well.

“We try to be cautious, but with a muscular injury you never know. He’s very close. If you look at him training, he’s very, very close.” Wenger said.

“He [Sanchez] is always keen to play but if you listen to Alexis he can always play even if he is injured.”

Wenger was also asked about the injury problems at Liverpool and replied “I don’t think you can explain the injuries of the players by the intensity of the game.”
