Arsenal have received quite the injury boost, and Mesut Özil is happy about it!

Aren’t we all?

Mesut took to Twitter after training on Thursday to show his delight that Francis Coquelin, Tomas Rosicky, Danny Welbeck, Santi Cazorla and Jack Wilshere are all (to various degrees) close to their returns to first team football.

The German has pretty much carried us for much of the season so far, and the returning players will certainly take some weight off his shoulders and allow him to have the occasional rest. We need him to be at his best throughout the run in and he will only manage that if we keep him fit.

In recent weeks he seems to have been tired, but the addition of Tomas Rosicky to Saturday’s matchday squad to face Burnley could allow Mesut a rest. When he is back in action he will be able to play with the likes Coquelin, Rosicky and Alexis Sánchez – who returned last weekend – for the first time in months.

Hopefully we will see Coquelin and Rosicky in action on Saturday, before Southampton visit the Emirates Stadium for our next Premier League fixture on Tuesday evening.
