Next Wednesday, Arsenal face Jürgen Klopp’s Liverpool side in the Premier League for the first time.

A trip to Anfield is Arsenal’s next Premier League game, after this weekend’s Third Round FA Cup clash against Sunderland, and the Gunners will hope to build on a strong Christmas period with another good result.

Liverpool, however, have been struggling and their new manager isn’t happy. A loss at Upton Park at the weekend made it three defeats in four away games, and he admits he barely spoke to his side after the match.

“I only told the players three words after the game,” Klopp told the press on Monday. “But we [will] have to speak about it again, because it was not the worst game I ever saw in my life.”

While Arsenal have a week off in preparation for the Sunderland game, Klopp’s Liverpool face Stoke City in the first leg of a League Cup semi-final. It’s a good chance to put things right, but it also means even more minutes for a squad which isn’t exactly brimming with quality fit players.

So far Klopp has only won two of his face Premier League games at Anfield, and Arsenal will really fancy their chances of grabbing a big result next week. Those chances will only grow if Stoke and Exeter stifle the Reds’ performances before the Gunners face them. Jürgen Klopp doesn’t seem like a guy who gets on too well when he’s agitated, so let’s hope he has another tough week.
